Cookie Usage Policy and Similar Technologies

1. Cookie Usage Policy and Similar Technologies

This policy refers to cookies and similar technologies used, where applicable, on websites and applications operated by THE FRAME FACTORY SRL, with its headquarters in Jud. Ilfov, Ors. Voluntari, Bld. Pipera, No.1/i, Building C2, Office No. 11, Compartment 13, Floor 5 (hereinafter referred to as THE FRAME FACTORY).

Cookies are used for the following purposes:

  • To operate the site,

  • To analyze visitor behavior on the site,

  • For advertising.

This policy complements THE FRAME FACTORY's general data protection policy.

Proper protection of personal data is an important objective for THE FRAME FACTORY. Our desire is to be as clear and transparent as possible regarding THE FRAME FACTORY's approach in this matter. For any questions, please contact us at contact@theframesfactory.com.

2. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file, consisting of letters and numbers, that will be stored on your computer, mobile terminal, or other equipment from which the internet is accessed. The cookie is installed by a request issued by the user's terminal to a THE FRAME FACTORY server or to a third-party server.

3. What are cookies used for?

These files mainly make it possible to recognize the user's terminal and present content in a relevant manner, adapted to the user's preferences. Cookies ensure users a pleasant browsing experience and support THE FRAME FACTORY's efforts to offer more tailored services to users, e.g., online privacy preferences or relevant advertising. They are also used to prepare aggregated anonymous statistics that help us understand how a user benefits from our web pages, allowing us to improve their structure and content, without allowing personal identification of the user.

4. What cookies do we use?

We use two types of cookies: session cookies and fixed cookies. Session cookies are temporary files that remain in the user's terminal until the session ends or the application is closed. Fixed cookies remain on the user's terminal for a period defined by the cookie parameters or until manually deleted by the user.

5. How are cookies used by this site?

A visit to this site may place the following types of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies for the site's operation

  • Analysis cookies

  • Advertising cookies

Strictly necessary cookies and/or similar technologies are essential for the proper functioning of the site, being set on your device when accessing the site or following site actions, as applicable. You can set your browser to block cookies, but in this case, certain sections of the site will not function correctly.

Other categories of cookies have the role indicated in section 11.

6. Do cookies or similar technologies contain personal data?

Cookies or similar technologies do not in themselves request personal information to be used and, in many cases, do not personally identify internet users. However, there are situations where personal data can be collected through the use of cookies to facilitate certain functionalities for the user or to offer the user an experience more tailored to their preferences. Such data is encrypted in a way that makes unauthorized access impossible.

What are similar technologies? Other technologies can be used for the same purposes as cookies. THE FRAME FACTORY uses Local Storage as a similar technology.

7. Blocking cookies

If you wish to block cookies, some functionalities of the site will be stopped, and this may generate certain malfunctions or errors in using our site. For example, blocking cookies may prevent you from:

  • Contacting us

  • Logging into your account

If you agree with these limitations and wish to block cookies, follow the instructions below: Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default, but you have the option to change the settings to block some or all cookies.

8. Managing preferences regarding cookie placement

Generally, an application used to access web pages allows the saving of cookies and/or similar technologies on the terminal by default. These are stored for the periods described in the table in section 11 below. These settings can be changed so that automatic cookie management is blocked by the web browser, or the user is informed every time cookies are sent to their terminal.

Detailed information about the possibilities and ways of managing cookies can be found in the settings area of the application (web browser). Limiting the use of cookies can affect certain functionalities of the website.

9. Why are cookies and/or similar technologies important for the Internet?

Cookies and/or similar technologies represent a central point of efficient Internet functioning, helping to generate a friendly browsing experience adapted to each user's preferences and interests. Refusing or disabling cookies can make some sites or parts of sites impossible to use.

Disabling cookies does not mean that you will no longer receive, in compliance with the legislation, online advertising – but that it will no longer consider your preferences and interests, as evidenced by your browsing behavior.

Examples of important uses of cookies (that do not require user authentication via an account):

  • Content and services tailored to user preferences – product and service categories.

  • Offers tailored to user interests.

  • Remembering passwords.

  • Retaining child protection filters regarding Internet content (family mode options, safe search functions).

  • Limiting the frequency of ad distribution – limiting the number of times an ad is displayed to a particular user on a site.

  • Providing relevant advertising to the user.

  • Measuring, optimizing, and adapting analysis characteristics – such as confirming a certain level of traffic on a website, what type of content is viewed, and how a user arrives at a website (e.g., through search engines, directly, from other websites, etc.). Websites carry out these analyses regarding their use to improve services for the benefit of users.

10. Security and privacy aspects

In general, browsers have integrated privacy settings that provide different levels of cookie acceptance, validity period, and automatic deletion after the user has visited a particular site.

Other security aspects related to cookies:

  • Customizing browser settings regarding cookies to reflect a comfortable level for you regarding cookie security.

  • If you are the only person using the computer, you can set long expiration periods for storing browsing history and personal access data if desired.

  • If you share access to the computer, you may consider setting the browser to delete individual browsing data each time you close the browser. This is a way to access sites that place cookies and delete any visit information at the end of the browsing session.
